Frequently Asked Questions

1. What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a time for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to counseling, your goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if my approach feels like a good fit for you.

2. How long are sessions?
Most sessions are 60 minutes. We may adjust the length if needed, depending on your goals and schedule.

3. How often will we meet?
This depends on your needs and availability. Many clients start with weekly sessions and then adjust to biweekly or monthly as they make progress.

4. Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I accept certain insurance plans. We’ll review your coverage during your intake process and discuss any out-of-pocket costs.

5. What if you don’t take my insurance?
If your insurance isn’t accepted, I can provide you with a “superbill” to submit for possible reimbursement, or we can discuss private pay options.

6. What types of therapy do you offer?
I use a variety of approaches including Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also offer faith-based counseling for those who request it.

7. If you offer Christian Counseling, do I have to identify with faith or religion to be a client?

No! Integrating faith-based counseling, or techniques related, is reserved for clients who specifically request this and want it blended into their treatment. I have see many clients who do not identify with faith or religion and we focus on other evidence-based treatment methods to pursue their goals.

8. Is counseling confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in sessions is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions related to safety (harm to self or others, abuse, or court orders). I’ll explain these in detail during our first meeting.

9. Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions so you can choose the option that works best for you.

10. How long will I need counseling?
The length of counseling varies from person to person and on your goals for therapy. Some clients see improvements in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support.

11. How do I get started?
You can start by booking a free 15-minute phone consultation. We’ll talk about your needs, discuss the intake process, and decide together if we’re a good fit.
